Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors

Welcome to St Mary’s Church of England Primary School’s website. We hope that you will find all the things you need to know about our wonderful school and that it will give you some insight to life at St Mary’s.

Our Biblical inspiration, from Luke 2:52, forms the foundation of our vision:

‘Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and all people’

Our children and adults Learn, Grow and Shine and their learning and development at St Mary’s takes place within a Christian atmosphere and environment where all children, regardless of their background, can flourish. We provide a caring and supportive learning environment, where we aim to (our vision):

  • Deliver educational excellence and foster a life-long love of learning
  • Build strong personal and community relationships through Christian values
  • Help children and adults flourish and fulfil their God given potential
  • Provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive Christian environment

Our vision is put into action through the teaching and living our Christian Values and the curriculum Big Ideas. You can click on the link to find out more about these.

We have a skilled and dedicated team of adults in school and they help all our children to achieve excellent academic outcomes. We also have specialist teachers delivering Music and PE. You can read more about our children’s academic achievements, by clicking on the link.

While learning remains at the forefront of what we do in school, there is so much more to our school. We offer a variety of clubs and most children are able to find something that they are interested in. We also have a breakfast and after school club to make life easier for our working parents.

Our children also take part in a wide range of sports and music events and competitions. Our children receive very good results and our school choir and peripatetic music lessons are always popular.

We also offer opportunities to grow spiritually, whether through our daily acts of worship or by making use of our prayer and reflection space. Our children show this through the way they get on with each other, their awe and wonder for God’s creation and the way they engage in charitable activities.

These are only a few of the things which add to our school being a great place for children to be, but I hope that the website will give you more information.

We would love to show you around our school and hope that we will be able to welcome you to St Mary’s soon.
